California Rifle

California – The place you call home. It’s been called many things: the Last Frontier, Gold Mountain, or just California: whose landmass may have been mistaken for a mythical island with golden weapons wielded by Amazon women that inspired the namesake.

The Golden State is rich in many ways from its diverse history of pioneers, uninhabited natural wonders like towering redwood trees and stretches of scenic Big Sur, unique wildlife, flavorful vineyards and wineries, and numerous technological and architectural marvels. California wouldn’t be what it is today without its Golden version of the American Dream.

Hunters and adventurers including William B. Ide, the President of the Republic of California, dreamed of a California that would remain strong and independent like a grizzly as they raised the original Bear Flag on July 17, 1846. Welcomed by the United States only 25 days after the Bear Flag Revolt, it would take until 1850 to officially become a state.

And suddenly, Eureka! Gold flecks discovered in the riverbank by James W. Marshall at Sutter’s Mill on January 24, 1848, inspired floods of pioneers and “forty-niners,” people like you and your family, to travel from all over the world. Dreaming of gold and freedom, they came far from their original homes to start the California Gold Rush. The tycoon Leland Stanford moved west and helped finance the Central Pacific Railroad that would lay the rails starting in San Francisco Bay eastward and connect to the rest of the nation’s First Transcontinental Railroad. The steam-powered locomotive bearing his name and former title of California Governor was the first locomotive of the Central Pacific Railroad and is still on display today.

Other services such as the iconic Pony Express, which delivered mail in just 10 days, were created to bridge the gap between the Pacific and Atlantic coasts as the state continued to grow. Through the years, people continued to chase gold and find other creative ways to wealth and happiness. This has led to booms in industry, technology, and agriculture: specifically, the growth of vineyards using all types of grapes from Cabernet Sauvignon to Zinfandel in California’s Wine Country. It all started in the 18th century; Spanish missions often had their own vineyard to produce sacramental wine. Now, wine from California is world renowned. Whether the grapes are made into golden white wine or the nuggets from the hills are made into semiconductors, either way California retains its status as a golden icon in history.

Heroes and Patriots is proud to honor the pioneers, prospectors, farmers, vintners and vignerons of fine wines, and entrepreneurs that have paved the way for you and your family to call California home.

Engraved on a fully-functional Henry Golden Boy .22LR and plated with 24-Karat Gold in a Satin Finish on the receiver cover and buttplate, this timeless lever-action features an octagon barrel and American Walnut stock.
